Originating from selected plots of century-old vineyards at Quinta das Carvalhas, Carvalhas Vinhas Velhas is the best we can do at Real Companhia Velha. The result is a sober Douro red, which not only expresses the uniqueness of this farm and its north-facing vineyards, but also reflects the history of the Douro, due to the vast diversity of grape varieties present in the old vineyard plots. Carvalhas extracts power and concentration from these vineyards and their cool, balanced sun exposure. A wine that will certainly offer great character after a few decades of bottle aging.
